Situation

FMG is developing a new magnetite mine and associated infrastructure at the Iron Bridge Site. The Project will include the construction of a process plant, nonprocess infrastructure, slurry and return water pipelines, a raw water pipeline and port infrastructure to support 22 Mtpa production.

The project requires 6 x 33 kV Switchgear, 33 kV Ring-Main- Units and associated Switchrooms for the Iron Bridge Project process plant site and 1 x 22 kV Switchgear and associated Switchrooms for the Iron Bridge port facilities.

Solution

Aerison was engaged as the primary contractor to deliver the engineering and design, structural, mechanical, electrical,
fabrication, installation, and commissioning works of 6 x 33 kV Switchgear, 33 kV Ring-Main-Units and associated Switchrooms and 1 x 22 kV Switchgear and associated Switchroom.

The scope included:

  • Design, engineering, and detailing.
  • Fire detection system, FIP.
  • Split system HVAC units.
  • HVAC pressurisation 20 Pa positive pressure.
  • Non-combustible buildings materials.
  • Internal walls and ceiling lined with non-combustible Askin Econorock 50mm panels.
  • External cladding Custom orb profile to walls and Custom orb profile to roof, Colour: Rivergum.

Project highlights:

  • Aerison is a full turn-key packaged supplier of switchrooms and kiosks in both ground up modularised units and containerised builds across the Mining, Oil and Gas industries.

Outcome

Aerison’s assembly facility boasts an ample undercover assembly area with production line capability. This allows full production like efficiencies to be gained when producing switchrooms in quantities. Aerison’s separate fabrication and assembly workshops allow a seamless delivery of both the fabrication and assembly components of the project.
