Situation

The Christmas Creek mine site accessways were non-confirming to required site and regulatory safety standards. Grid mesh and handrails were required to be replaced to allow access.

Solution

• Aerison were consulted to provide audit and inspection services to complete a report for the replacement of sections of the walkways and access platforms across the plant.
• Aerison were then contracted to fabricate new materials then remove and replace redundant sections of all affected accessways.
• Working often at heights and in live operational areas, Aerison completed the replacement works during a program which spanned over 3 months at the plant.

Outcome

• The project was delivered safely and incident free.
